Seems heavy users of Live and/or Bitwig are really into modularity and custom building devices and libraries but that’s not really my bag. Similarly I look at Bitwig’s features as cool looking but wonder if I would really utilize them or if they would be another rabbit hole distraction. I miss session view but it was also my biggest distraction. I needed the limitation of linear composing to keep me focused on getting shit done. I stopped using Live a while back in favor of Logic. Live's development has always moved at an agonizingly glacial pace, so it's an interesting tortoise/hare thing going on at the moment. their take on the automation system (clip vs track) is genius, the whole bounce system is a breath of fresh air, and the devs are FLYING. It's also not exactly stable - random weird shit happens all the time. There's no 'note paint' mode in the midi editor - the paintbrush tool paints the notes one by one. There's no chain selector for container devices, so switching presets is a pain in the arse. Transport and other global controls not being midi-mappable either is a biggie. I’m using the sensel morph MPE script that automatically is setup in bitwig whenever you have the sensel morph plugged in.Beats me wrote:So at this point for Live users what are the current deal breakers with Bitwig? Last I remember there were some glaring omissions but I don’t remember what they are.Ĭlips slots not being midi-mappable is probably the biggest omission. I look in the bitwig settings and looked in the sensel morph app and can’t find this i/o panel you are referring to here. Im using Bitwig Studio 3.3 any ideas where I can find this option to disable on-screen notifications. I am unable to find how to do what your descibing in this script update. The popups show every time I select a track (it says “selected track: (insert track name) : drum offset : scale offset” New to the Sensel Morph group (just received mine yesterday), I’m looking for this option you mentioned above to turn off the pretty annoying popups sensel morphs shows in bitwig (i’ve confirmed its the sensel morph as the popups don’t come up when I unplug the sensel morph and return whenever it is on). We’ve also added a setting to the I/O panel to enable/disable on-screen notifications. As always, use the “with Scripts” installer unless you have Bitwig 3.2 We also implemented functional “User Mode” for being able to assign controls from the Innovator’s and Music Production overlays by MIDI Learn. ![]() We added the Innovator Overlay as an option for exclusive ports. ![]() Map files have been updated, so to take best advantage of the XYZ possibilities, you’ll need to flash the Morph with new maps and install these new script files. We’ve also made a “No Overlay” map so you can mess around with multi-touch ideas. This way you can do pseudo MPE stuff easily with Wavetable and Sampler’s MIDI modulation matrix. Map files have been re-programmed with MIDI XYZ pads so X=bend, Y=mod wheel, Z=channel pressure. The overlay maps are channelized so you can dedicate an overlay to a particular track. You can get it from our store or from our github release page.įixed a bug in shifted mode that would prevent channel send assignment from working correctly. Useful when using the new “Jump” pitch bend mode. You can use the note/CC assignments used in the Music Production overlay for your Innovator’s to control Sends A&B, Macros, Crossfader, and transport.Īdded a pitchbend range option to the Morph script I/O control panel so you can select 24 or 48. Added definitions to Innovator’s overlay. ![]()
